THE OUTPUT AND THE PROBE CASE BINDING POST MUST BE CONNECTED TO A GROUNDED SYSTEM.<\/p><p><br \/>\u2022 DAMAGED INSULATION ON THE INPUT PROBE LEADS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.<\/p><p><br \/>\u2022 TWIST THE INPUT LEADS TOGETHER ONLY IF NEEDED TO MINIMIZE RINGING FROM THE INPUT LEADS&#8217; INDUCTANCE. HOWEVER, THIS WILL INCREASE THE PROBE&#8217;S INPUT CAPACITANCE, AFFECTING HIGH-IMPEDANCE SOURCES AND SLOWING TRANSITION TIMES. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR HIGH-VOLTAGE RF MEASUREMENTS.<\/p><p><br \/>\u2022 CHECK THE PROBE OFFSET. ADJUST THE PROBE OFFSET WITH THE UP-DOWN PUSH BUTTONS TO THE VALUE CLOSEST TO ZERO. FOR THE BEST MEASUREMENT ACCURACY, SUBTRACT THE PROBE OUTPUT OFFSET FROM THE MEASUREMENT.<\/p><p><br \/>\u2022 BEWARE OF THE PROBE INPUT RESONANCE. IT CAN RANGE FROM 50MHz TO 200MHz. REDUCE ITS EFFECT BY BRINGING THE INPUT LEADS CLOSER TOGETHER, TWISTING THEM, OR LIMITING THE SCOPE BANDWIDTH AS NEEDED.<\/p><p><br \/>\u2022 USE THE SHORTEST INPUT CLIPS THAT CAN DO THE JOB. LONG CLIPS WILL INTRODUCE STRAY INDUCTANCE AND CAPACITANCE, WHICH AFFECT THE MEASUREMENTS. INPUT LEAD EXTENSIONS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED. FOR THE BEST ACCURACY, USE SHORT INPUT LEADS.<\/p><p><br \/>\u2022 UNDER LARGE AND FAST COMMON-MODE TRANSIENTS, MOST OF THE DIFFERENTIAL PROBES AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET CAN SHOW ARTIFACTS, SUCH AS GLITCHES, THAT DO NOT TRULY REPRESENT THE DIFFERENTIAL SIGNAL BEING MEASURED.
